Dara & Eric’s wedding at the Seaport Hotel in May was lovely, laid-back, and fun-filled — Dara and Eric have a knack for surrounding themselves with similarly joyful and fun people. I especially loved Dara’s distinctive ruffled bouquet, crafted by Winston Flowers — it was a copy of the one carried by her mom on her wedding day years ago. The details and decor featured lovely champagne, cream and gold accents, giving the beautiful Lighthouse ballroom an airy, elegant feel.

Special thanks to Alanah and the other talented coordinators at The Seaport, who keep everything running like clockwork, while making it all seem effortless!

I’m feeling a bit nostalgic this afternoon: ten years ago today, I was shooting my very first wedding as a professional photographer.

Melanie and Roman had hired me to photograph their sweet, low-key 3-hour celebration at a small winery. I remember feeling thrilled, a little bit terrified, and utterly smitten with my brand-new profession.

Ten years on, the thrill remains. I get butterflies while packing my camera bag. I still get a bit teary at ceremonies. I feel incredibly lucky to have built a career doing something I love so much.

Thank you to all of my lovely clients and their families, and especially to Melanie and Roman for taking a chance on a rookie.

Here’s to the next ten!
